I have made this card for the colour swatch Challenge over at 'Lets get Arty', which used to be 'Lets get Shabby.' They have introduced a new format for their Challenges which is unique and interesting and I wanted to give it a go.
I worked from this image and colour swatch.
The requirement was to use at least 4 colours, I chose all the colours to design my card.
The dark Blue of my first layer looks more turquoise but it actually matches the Blue cruise in the photo in real life.
As you can see I have layered on burlap a lacy doily, die cut embossed leaves, a little fibre some net and painted card stock. The Flowers have been die cut out of painted Tyvek paper, heated and shaped, then Utee applied.
I distressed some painted paper to look like parchment and finished off with stitching.
It was a challenge for me to keep within the swatch palette, but I think it is going to be a great learning curve for me as I do tend to add and add.
I have to sit and watch the World Cup Cricket final now as New Zealand are up against our rival Australia. It is not a sport I enjoy watching, but I have a hubby who thinks I should support my country even though I will be bored to death.
The truth is he likes me by his side as I am such wonderful company!
Have a great week.
