It's a Heart!!!

Hello Everyone,
I have joined in with many of you and constructed a card with a heart, I do not celebrate Valentines day per se, for me the original idea has been lost amongst the commercialism, but the idea of sending a card to a person you are lusting after anonymously appeals to my sense of humour!  I have never sent a card, as I don't believe I have ever lusted after someone, I have just turned 63years old so I may have forgotten this feeling....Ha.

Anyway to my card, that I think will be suitable for a wedding celebration and this is the last one using the Dylusions Ink pad, as my Dt sample for Scottie Crafts.

I have used watercolour paper to make my substrate, with the usual culprits of stitching and lace for my embellishments.
There is of course a step by step on how this was put together over on the Scotties Blog here.
Mixed media is messy but it is so much fun, thank you for all the positive comments on my cards using this pad, I know the girls at Scotties have been thrilled.
Pop over and say hello, they are a great bunch of girls that support and encourage all the  crafters here in NZ, a small country with a huge Heart!
This is also for CJS 2014  at Nat*Studio -to use a household item; mine is the corrugated cardboard.

I have had a fantastic week I hope you all have a great weekend.
Smiles:)

Dylusions Inks on Gloss Card.

Hello Everyone,

Monday morning here again and another project; namely a card using the Dylusions ink pad.
Over at Scottie Crafts I have a tutorial on how I created the background; a very simple method and one that many of you have probably already practised in one way or other.

I have used Gloss card to obtain my effect, which I rather like.....judge for yourselves.

The Flower is watercolour paper.
Pop over to Scotties Blog and have a read and let me know what you think.

Have a great week,
Smiles:)

Gorgeous Poppy!

Hello Everyone.
Two Posts Today- continuing to scroll down for my other project.

Back into the craft room for me after the Christmas festivities.
This card I have for you is not as you think; The Poppy flower, it  does have some poppies but it is a digital image from  Delicious Doodles. named Poppy that is the Star here.
Just before Christmas I won the Challenge at Quirky Crafts with my G45 decorated box, and this lovely little thing was my prize plus a guest designer spot today on their Blog.

Now those who know me are probably bewildered that I would even work with a digi image and you will be correct in your assumption, though having said this I have coloured up a few in the past, but it is a very rare occurrence.
I will be the first to concede that I am not confident in colouring images. However, the Challenge was set and I took it on with my usual aplomb; head first as opposed to straight up!
The Challenge is 'Eyes Wide Open'  you can find all the details here,
and if you love working with these types of images then pop across as they have great sponsors.

One has to admit she is lovely and demure, and suits a Birthday card  for a wide age group.

Framing her with spellbinders dies, fussy cutting the poppies, placing stickles in her hair and using Faber-Castell Markers for the colouring hopefully compliments her beauty, my work is not perfect unfortunately, but I did enjoy the many attempts of painting her up, this is the best one of numerous attempts and the one I was most happy with to make up my card.
I hope you like her.

Dylusions Ink Pad- Card

Hello Everyone,
As a Dt for Scottie Crafts I was asked to work with Dyan Reaveley's Ink Pad (Video here).
So over the Christmas break I have been playing with it, I only have one pad, so I am restricted to the colours that the pad was initially inked with, but I have created a few different effects which I will reveal over the next few weeks.

This is the first Background I made using ordinary smooth card stock, I have provided a step by step over on the Scotties Blog  with extra detail pics if you are interested.

Hope all is well, have a great day,
Smiles:)
